WISE Captures a Cosmic Rose



A new infrared image from NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, shows a cosmic rosebud blossoming with new stars.

The IAS is a group of amateur astronomers who meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except January) at the Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium, Squires Way, Fairy Meadow (see map below). Meetings start at 7.30pm . We welcome all newcomers who are interested in learning more about astronomy and joining in our regular activities.

Next DISCOVERY NIGHT: 23 April Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium 7.00pm - 9.00pm. IAS members will be providing telescopes for visitors to view the universe up close.
